Founded by Clive Veroni in 2000, Leap is a branding and marketing consultancy that focuses on one simple idea: Strategy is the first act of creativity.

Many believe marketing begins with strategy and the moves to creative. We believe that creative strategy, whatever follows does not matter. Our aim is deliver the most creative strategic solutions to clients’ business challenges. By uncovering original and actionable insights.

We also believe that creative solutions require creative minds. We bring decades of experience working in creative environments to deliver creative insights. It’s allows us to look same information as everyone else, but see something different.

ABOUT CLIVE

After abandoning his PhD studies in Renaissance English Literature, Clive made the jump from the sublime to the ridiculous and landed a job in advertising. Or perhaps it was not so ridiculous. After six short years in the ad business, he opened his own agency. And six years after that he and his partners sold the firm to Omnicom, one of the world’s largest agency holding companies.

In that space of time, he worked with some of the best-known global brands. His advertising career spanned work for a range of clients from IBM to Apple, from Kellogg’s to Becks, from GE to TD to KFC. Plus, dozens more.

Then he made one more crazy jump and opened Leap Consulting, a branding and marketing consultancy. Today, he advises clients across North America on marketing strategy, brand positioning, product innovation and market research by uncovering unique and actionable insights about their brands.

Not wanting to waste all those years of English Lit studies, Clive authored a book on marketing and politics, titled Spin: How Politics Has The Power To Turn Marketing On Its Head. It was a finalist for the prestigious National Business Book Award.

As a result, he has become frequent television and radio commentator on politics and business. In addition, his writing has appeared in The Globe and Mail, The Hill Times and the Literary Review of Canada. Clive is also a sought-after speaker and lecturer, having delivered lectures at the Conference Board of Canada, the University of Toronto and the Rotman School of Management, among others.

Clive was born in Cape Town, South Africa. At the age of fifteen he moved to Toronto, to escape the oppressiveness of apartheid and South Africa’s unrelievedly balmy weather.
